2007 Sexton Scholarship Awards

April 27, 2007 (Knoxville, TN) - The University of Tennessee Men's Rugby Club announced the recipients of the 2007 Richard Sexton Scholarship at its annual Old Boys Awards Banquet on Friday night.

The Sexton Scholarship is awarded each year to players that have distinquished themselves both on and off the field as dedicated club members. This year, each recipient will receive a scholarship of $1600 that will be applied towards their 2007/2008 tuition.

For 2007, the UT Old Boys are pleased to award the Sexton Scholarships to Shane Randolph, Kyle DiMeola, Joseph Potter, and Jason Hall.

Randolph (prop) will be beginning his 5th year with UTRFC this fall having just completed a year as captain of the team. Shane comes to UT from Nashville where he attended Hillsboro High School ('03). This is his second Sexton Scholarship.

Kyle DiMeola (prop) is a 3rd year player from Hendersonville, TN (Beech High School '04) and has just been elected to captain the team in 2007/2008.

Potter (lock, flanker) has also just completed his 3rd year with UTRFC and is a 2004 graduate of Maryville High School where he played rugby for the Rebels.

Hall (prop) has just completed his 3rd year with UTRFC and is a 2004 graduate of Central High School where he played rugby. (not pictured)
