2006 Sexton Scholarship Awards

April 28, 2006 (Knoxville, TN) - The University of Tennessee Men's Rugby Club announced the recipients of the 2006 Richard Sexton Scholarship at its annual Old Boys Awards Banquet on Saturday night.

The Sexton Scholarship is awarded each year to players that have distinquished themselves both on and off the field as dedicated club members. This year, each recipient will receive a scholarship of $1200 that will be applied towards their 2006/2007 tuition.

For 2006, the UT Old Boys are pleased to award the Sexton Scholarships to Jeff Chapman, Kevin Hartley, Luke Woods and Shane Randolph.

Chapman (lock), a rising senior from Brentwood, TN is just finishing up his term as captain of the team. This is his second Sexton Scholarship.

Hartley (center) has just been re-elected as president of the club and is finishing up his third year at UT in pre-law. Kevin also comes to UT from Brentwood, TN where he played rugby.

Woods (wing) also calls Brentwood, TN home and also played rugby in high school for the Brumbies before entering UT. Luke will begin his final year at UT this fall majoring in Psychology / Pre-Pharmacy.

Randolph (prop) begins his 4th year at UT majoring in engineering. Shane comes to UT from Nashville, TN where he attended Hillsboro High School.
