2008 Rose Scholarship Awards
April 26, 2008 (Knoxville, TN) — The University of Tennessee Men's Rugby Club announced the recipients of the 2007 Rose Scholarships at its annual awards banquet on Friday night.
The Rose Scholarship is awarded each year to players that have distinquished themselves in the area of strength and conditioning while playing rugby at Tennessee. This award was created and is annual funded by UT Old Boy Jay Blandford, and administered by Mick Larrabee, a specialist in strength and conditioning who have served as the trainer and physical therapist for the club for several years. Awards are presented to the top performers on a series of strength and conditioning tests. This year the two top performers each receive a $500 scholarhip to be applied towards the student's fall semester tuition.
