Tennessee outpaced by Texas A & M
October 10, 2008 (Jonesboro, Arkansas) — Texas A&M used a solid defensive effort and some strong running from its fullback to outpace the Volunteers12-34 on Friday in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Tennessee had its opportunities but were turned away by solid Aggie tackling and some untimely UT errors. Precise kicking fueled the five try Aggie attack and kept the Volunteers pinned in its own end for most of the day.
In the second match, the Volunteers saw a forward pass kill a promising attack on the final play of the game to subsequently drop a closely contested match with A&M 12-15. After falling behind, UT used two well earned tries by Tom Abernathy to close the margin in the final minutes. |
