Iowa State mauls Volunteers
October 11, 2008 (Jonesboro, Arkansas) — Tennessee couldn't close out a halftime lead and dropped the second match of the 2008 fall break tour to Iowa State University 29-36 on Saturday in Jonesboro, Arkansas. ISU used some strong forward play and renewed emphysis on defense to outscore the Volunteers in the second half 4 tries to 2.
In the second game the Volunteers took on a combination of ISU and LSU reserves. Additionally, UT provided the opposition with three players in each half to insure that the game went off and all traveling players got playing time. Tennessee ran across 7 tries in the game and closed out the fall break trip on a good result, claiming the 41-3 victory.
