The Volunteers traveled to Jonesboro, Arkansas withe 37 players and two coaches to take on Oklahoma and Truman State. This 4 team invitational event was hosted by Arkansas State University. On Friday, UT took on Oklahoma and then squared off with Truman State on the following day.

October 14, 2005 (Jonesboro, AR) — UT overcame handling errors and a ball hungry Sooner defense to claim a 31-13 victory on Friday afternoon. In the first game of the afternoon, Truman State defeated Arkansas State 25-17 in a hard fought contest. October 15, 2005 (Jonesboro, AR) — The Volunteers finally put together a complete match on the final day of fall break. Tennessee used sound possession and dynamic continuity to pour in eight tries against a weary Truman State team had had expended a considerable amount of energy in defeating Arkansas State the day before. In the second match, the UT second side picked up where the first 15 left off putting over four tries in the shut out victory.
