Old Boys reclaim dominance in annual contest
April 26, 2008 (Fulton Bottoms, USA) — The UT Old Boys redeemed themselves after a couple of years of subpar performances with a decisive victory over the UT undergrads on Saturday at Fulton Bottoms. The alumni used a infusion of youthfulness and conditioning to overpower the young bucks. The trys came early and often for the Old Boys who built a five try lead and then hung on to claim the victory proving once again that experience and treachery will overcome the youthful Volunteers.
In the B match, the Old Boys jumped to a 17 point lead and then used some late kicking heroics from Chris Gower to claim the the curtain raiser victory. Jimmy Reid, Jared Huisingh and Omar Tinko scored tries to take a 19-17 lead only to see Gower boot through the game saving penalty kick at time expired. |
